90th Anniversary of Estonian Republic

Welcome to the homepage of the 90th Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia. Here you can find information on the celebrations and events taking place during the anniversary year.

The anniversary year of the Republic of Estonia is drawing to close – the final month of the year dedicated to the Government of the Republic is beginning. The month begins with the reburial of the statesman and clergyman Jaan Lattik to Viljandi.
On 2 November, All Soul’s Day, everyone who died while serving the country or who has performed great deeds before the Republic of Estonia will be commemorated.

On Wednesday, 1 October, a memorial stone will be dedicated in Põlva County, at the birthplace of Heinrich Mark, the Head of Government who acted as the President of the Republic of Estonia and was the State Secretary in exile. Today, 97 years will have passed from the birth of Heinrich Mark.

Compared to last year, the number of people in Estonia, to whom the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the Republic bring positive emotions, has increased. According to the survey conducted by TNS Emor, of the people who responded to the survey, 92 per cent of Estonians and 90 of other nationalities in Estonia regarded the emotions related to the anniversary year as positive. In December 2007, these proportions were 86 and 74 per cent, respectively.
